Score three dimensions

A useful review should not give each trade a grade based only on whether it made money. Decision quality asks whether the higher-timeframe context, setup, session and predefined confirmation were present before entry. Execution quality asks about fill price, position size and stop compliance. Outcome means verified net P&L. A profitable violation is not a sound process, and a planned losing trade is not necessarily a mistake.

Recover the MT5 facts first

Choose the correct login, server and account before extracting positions, orders and deals. In MT5 several deals may belong to one trade idea; treating every execution as an independent trade distorts frequency and possibly win rate. Reconcile partial exits, commissions, swaps and account currency conversions. Define the reporting timezone while preserving the original server timestamps for audit.

Reconstruct pre-entry evidence

For each setup record higher-timeframe trend, liquidity areas, session, relevant economic context and invalidation defined before the position. Separate observations available at the time from beliefs invented after knowing the result. If a pre-trade screenshot is missing, mark the evidence as unverified rather than manufacturing confirmation. Missed or deliberately rejected setups can also reveal valuable discipline.

Measure exposure rather than lots

Compare the planned loss at the original stop with account equity at the time of entry. Add simultaneous correlated exposures and consider spread, fees and potential slippage. Equal lot sizes on different symbols do not imply equal money at risk. Record whether you added size, widened a stop or opened another correlated position without recalculating combined exposure.

Classify one error clearly

Useful categories include entering without confirmation, widening the stop, trading outside a planned session, excess risk, FOMO, revenge trading and unplanned early exit. Too many vague labels obscure patterns rather than clarify them. Grade the choice using what was known when it was made, not just the following candle. Track violations separately from ordinary strategy losses.

Review financial metrics properly

Inspect verified net P&L, normalized trade count, average winning and losing trade, drawdown and gross profit relative to gross loss, stating the sample. Two exceptional winners may hide erratic behavior. Segment by setup, market and session without pretending tiny samples establish statistical significance. A single positive Friday does not prove predictive ability or justify greater risk next week.

The process-outcome matrix

Correct process with a profit supports preserving the method without immediately raising lot size. Correct process with a loss may reflect ordinary uncertainty and needs a broader sample before judgment. Broken process with a profit still requires correction, not celebration. Broken process with a loss means rule compliance must be repaired before hunting for a more exciting indicator.

A thirty-minute routine

First verify terminal data and expenses, then reconstruct three strong and weak decisions, then choose one behavior to improve. Write an observable rule for next week, such as requiring a predefined invalidation before every entry. Finish with a controllable action rather than a guaranteed monthly return target. A review that changes no repeatable behavior is usually a reporting ritual.

Missing evidence and Discipline Score

A behavioral score is meaningful only when it uses documented trading rules and available information; a losing trade alone does not reveal emotion. Where pre-entry notes or confirmation evidence are missing, record that uncertainty. Check sync freshness separately on browser and Android because local caches can hide updates. Keep all trade groups isolated by their MT5 account identity.

Review output and limits

Save a brief weekly report with date range, account, normalized trades, most repeated error, process strength to preserve and one testable rule for next week. A week's results cannot statistically certify a trading edge. This educational framework emphasizes repeatable decisions and sustainable risk, not a market prediction. Primary references are MT5 account history, official MetaTrader documentation and the trader's contemporaneous notes.
